Violinist, Tegan Ceschi-Smith is a dynamic musician whose interests and skills range from classical to fiddle music, jazz and free improvisation. Her love of music began with Suzuki violin lessons in Ontario at the age of 4 where she also studied the piano.  Since then, she has played in many chamber ensembles and orchestras including Canada’s National Youth Orchestra, and Vancouver’s Carnegie Community Centre Jazz Band, with whom she worked to complete her Master’s Thesis in Music Education at UBC, as well as, with several bands touring Canada, the U.S., and Europe, including Vancouver’s cider-punk band, The Dreadnoughts.  Most recently, she has been performing locally with the Sunshine Coast Viols and the Coast Messiah Orchestra and as a duo, playing folk and country music with her partner, drummer and guitarist, Benjie Nesdoly.
