Mes/sages

The oceans are changing quickly, and the creatures that live in them are reflecting these changes through their growth, health, and in the quieting of their songs. This work is a bid for connection, an invitation to explore their beauty, to learn from them, and a celebration of their often unseen way of moving in the world. Made with fresh water from the coast, here in Ch’atlich, where artist Tegan Ceschi-Smith lives, and salt from across the Salish Sea, this work is also an exploration of the relationship between place and creativity.
